It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
